Perfection

Standing here

Staring at this blank reflection

Realizing no one’s near

Left with no protection

Craving the wings of society

Seeing the black behind mortality

Living the lives of faultless ties

Looking behind at what used to be

Learning now of the new me

Looking at this reflection

Starving myself to perfection

Drawing a pretty face

Wrapping myself in lace

Locked up with burning words

Disappointment from them burns

Black has taken what once was hope

Making everything harder to cope

Crying not in pain but for this craving

The never ending craving for perfection

This looks great! It will help a lot of people! Why is perfection so linked to perception and self-worth 😞?
